Brooklyn Museum x Ragga Nyc

RAGGA NYC had the privilege of working with Brooklyn Museum for the August 2024 First Saturday! At the event we celebrated the dynamic cultures and traditions across the Caribbean for an evening of music, film, and more. We also focused our efforts in raising funds for the next Doll Ball Ja (the 1st & only ball in Jamaica to take place on the island for queer people) during the event in partnership with Connek Ja.

For the last 3 years Ragga Nyc has worked with Connek Ja to put on Jamaica's 1st ball on the island. We are fundraising to do it again in winter 2024/25! With spaces like the Doll Ball Ja cultural growth/ change sprout from the ground up through art and joy. All pillars important to the RAGGA NYC manifesto.

On the RAGGA NYC stage we had Ragga family member Oscar Nñ and Ragga cousin Devoye to spark the Ragga dance floor for the evening.

IN CELEBRATING ALL THINGS CUNT N CARIBBEAN we had the dolls of @united_trans_creatives_hosting to raise awareness about the DOLL BALL fundraiser! @united_trans_creatives_ was the 1st house in Kingston to help @connekja & Ragga bring ballroom culture to life in Jamaica so we couldn’t be more honored to be in sisterhood with them. Also make sure to check out @united_trans_creatives_ ‘s new party/ initiative @cvnt_series which raises funds for the dolls in Jamaica. Jamaica queer Pride happened again in August 2024 so remember the tide is changing in Jamaica. It fills our hearts to have all of your continued support and love amongst all the chaos in the world.
